Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Curlew). They put the hurt on the Republic Tigers with a sharp 24-4 win on Saturday. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by eight runs or more this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Curlew and bumps their season record up to 6-5. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Republic, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-7-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Curlew is set to challenge their familiar foe Cusick at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Republic will square off against rival Northport at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
