Basketball Recap: Hurricane Starts Season with Win at Home

Hurricane took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Green Canyon Wolves with a sharp 74-54 victory. The Tigers not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since December 26, 2024 (when they won 71-41).

Hurricane's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Clyde Berrett led the charge by shooting 64% from the field on his way to 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Asher Blair, who went 7-for-14 to rack up 19 points.

Hurricane was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Coming up, Hurricane will square off against Canyon View at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Green Canyon, they and Summit Academy will face off at 2:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played.
