Soccer Game Preview: Holy Cross vs. Montrose + How To Watch

The Holy Cross Crusaders will head out to challenge the Montrose Meteors at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Holy Cross is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

Holy Cross took a three-goal defeat the last time they faced off against Riverside, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Crusaders had just enough and edged out the Vikings 2-1 on Wednesday. The win was all the more spectacular given Holy Cross' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 328th, while Riverside are ranked 147th).

Meanwhile, Montrose kept a clean sheet against Carbondale Area on Wednesday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Chargers. The win continues a trend for Montrose in their matchups with Carbondale Area: they've now won nine in a row.

Montrose now has a winning record of 6-5-2. As for Holy Cross, their record now sits at 11-6.

Holy Cross beat Montrose 3-1 in their previous meeting back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Crusaders since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
