Soccer Game Preview: Great Bend vs. Hays

Great Bend hasn't had much luck against Hays recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Panthers will be playing at home against the Indians. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Great Bend took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand Junction City/St. Xavier a 7-0 shutout. Considering Great Bend have won five matches by more than six goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Hays' game on Thursday was all tied up 2-2 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 4-2 win over Liberal. The victory continues a trend for Hays in their matchups with Liberal: they've now won seven in a row.

The win got Hays back to even at 5-5. As for Great Bend, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5.

Great Bend came out on top in a nail-biter against Hays when the teams last played back in March, sneaking past 2-1. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Indians turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
