Volleyball Recap: Howland Tigers vs. Westlake Demons
With a playoff game on the line, Howland rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Westlake Demons. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-19, 20-25, 25-20.
Sianna Dykes paced Howland's offense, picking up 22 kills. Dykes got some help from
Talia Rishel and her 45 assists.
Maya Kubancsek controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.
Westlake's loss came despite strong showings from Molly Moore and Chloe Vig. Moore had ten digs and four aces, while Vig had 18 digs. Moore has been hot , having posted ten or more digs the last eight times she's played.
Howland has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. As for Westlake, they moved to 15-7 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
Howland has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Archbishop Hoban on the 24th. Westlake does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
