Volleyball Game Preview: Francis Parker Lancers vs. St. Augustine Saints

Francis Parker is 7-2 against St. Augustine since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. Francis Parker will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Augustine at 5:30 p.m. The timing isn't great for Francis Parker: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while St. Augustine has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road.

Last Friday, Francis Parker came up short against Scripps Ranch and fell 3-1.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-17, 21-25, 25-22.

Despite the defeat, Francis Parker saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ethan Brigger had 15 digs. That's the most digs Brigger has posted over his last eight games. Ben Dragasits also deserves some recognition as he had his first block of the season.

Meanwhile, St. Augustine beat Clairemont 3-1 on Friday.

While St. Augustine might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Clairemont scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-19, 21-25, 25-21.

St. Augustine has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. Francis Parker's loss dropped their record down to 16-7.
