3A - South recap September 17, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in 3A - South this week, Richfield beat Emery 42-12,. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Wildcats.
Canyon View lost to Dixie 58-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Braxton Higgins ran for 142 yards in the defeat.
Dedric Davidson was the best wideout in the league this week as Juab lost to Grantsville. Davidson tallied 3 receptions for 58 yards. Brandon Morgan helped Juab's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 43 yards.
Bracken Lovell put up the best numbers through the air as Delta lost to Judge Memorial. He finished with 7 completions for 135 yards. Lovell's favorite target this week was Logan Smith, who caught 4 passes for 57 yards.
Higgins was the most successful running back in the league this week. Teammate Tevan Vasi added to the ground attack by rushing for 81 yards.
Higgins provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Canyon View lost to the Flyers.
Davidson was a key player and the best on defense this week as the Wasps fell to the Cowboys. He recorded 2 fumbles.
Leading 3A - South in both passing and receiving yards, Juab's Nick Robins and Davidson have proven to be a lethal combination. Robins has thrown for 549 yards this season, while Davidson has 11 catches for 208 yards. Robby Robinson's team's Higgins leads the league in rushing yards with 471.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Richfield takes on the Falcons. Corey Morrison's team is in first place, while Canyon View is in sixth place.
The Wildcats led the league in scoring this week after putting up 42 points on the Spartans.
