Softball Recap: Van Alstyne Comes Up Short

Van Alstyne and Brock squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Van Alstyne had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Panthers have suffered since April 11th.

This is the second loss in a row for Van Alstyne and nudges their season record down to 29-8. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for Brock, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 34-10.

As of now, neither Van Alstyne nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
