Baseball Recap: Owosso Makes It Five in a Row at Home

There's no place like home for Owosso, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They came out on top against the Goodrich Martians by a score of 8-5 on Wednesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Trojans as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Eden Ackley made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted over his last 14 matches.

In other batting news, Carson Moore was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Austin Blaha, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Owosso's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-8. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Goodrich, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 17-5 record.

Looking ahead, Owosso will head out on the road to take on Holly at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Goodrich, they will face off against Powers Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
