While Lawndale's win against Hawthorne wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cardinals had just enough and edged out the Cougars 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cardinals have posted since February 26, 2024.

Lawndale was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 18-25, 20-25, 25-14, 15-7.

Lawndale pushed their record up to 6-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Hawthorne, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-18.

Looking ahead, Lawndale will challenge Morningside at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Hawthorne does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
