Soccer Game Preview: James F. Byrnes vs. Clover

The James F. Byrnes Rebels are taking a road trip to face off against the Clover Blue Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. James F. Byrnes' last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Thursday, James F. Byrnes didn't have quite enough to beat Eastside and fell 2-1. While losing is never fun, James F. Byrnes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 64th, while Eastside are ranked 20th).

James F. Byrnes' goal came courtesy of Tre Segarra, who's now up to seven this season.

Meanwhile, Clover kept a clean sheet against Catawba Ridge on Friday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Copperheads.

Clover has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for James F. Byrnes, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8-1.
