Middletown South made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Rumson-Fair Haven, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Eagles fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 17-14 on Friday. Surprisingly, this marked the Eagles' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Middletown South moved to 3-5 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Rumson-Fair Haven, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.

Middletown South will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Middletown North at 10:30 a.m. on November 27. The Eagles will be up against the Lions' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28.71 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. Rumson-Fair Haven does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
