Recap: Prestonwood Christian Lions vs. Van Alstyne Panthers
The Prestonwood Christian Lions put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down Van Alstyne 52-35. Given Prestonwood Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 29th, while Van Alstyne is ranked 221st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Prestonwood Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kierstin Rink, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 10 rebounds. Rink continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Allie Swindell was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with 6 assists and 6 rebounds.
Prestonwood Christian's victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Van Alstyne, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.
Prestonwood Christian is on the road again on Thursday and play against Chisholm Trail at 10:30 a.m. on November 30th. Chisholm Trail is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for Van Alstyne, they will face off against Emerson at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday.
