Basketball Game Preview: Corvallis Blue Devils vs. Beaverhead County Beavers

Corvallis is 2-8 against Beaverhead County since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Corvallis Blue Devils will venture away from home to face off against the Beaverhead County Beavers at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Corvallis took a loss when they played away from home last Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Stevensville by a score of 53-44. The Blue Devils' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Beaverhead County came tearing into Thursday's match with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 48-35 victory over the Broncs. Given the Beavers' advantage in MaxPreps' Montana basketball rankings (they are ranked 15th, while the Broncs are ranked 64th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Beaverhead County pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.4 points per game. As for Corvallis, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-8.

Corvallis came up short against Beaverhead County in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 53-42. Can Corvallis avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
