Basketball Recap: Pebblebrook Takes a Loss

Pebblebrook was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 51-38 to the Whitefield Academy WolfPack.

Whitefield Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hailey Houlder led the charge by going 6 of 14 on her way to 17 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. Houlder has been hot, having posted four or more steals the last eight times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Amelia Newman, who went 5 for 8 on her way to 15 points.

Pebblebrook's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Whitefield Academy, they pushed their record up to 8-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. It'll be Battle of the Birds when the Pebblebrook Falcons face off against the Hillgrove Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hillgrove will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Pebblebrook surely won't give up without a fight. As for Whitefield Academy, they will venture away from home to square off against Atlanta International at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
