Basketball Recap: Surry County Comes Up Short

Surry County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 57-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rappahannock Raiders. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.

Surry County's record is now 0-14. As for Rappahannock, their win ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-6.

Surry County has already played their next game (against Essex), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Rappahannock will face off against Northumberland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Northumberland's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Rappahannock has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
