Baseball Recap: Mountainside's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Wednesday

Mountainside dropped their record down to 9-14 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Aloha Warriors, falling 8-2. The Mavericks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Warriors earlier this season, when they won 1-0.

As for Aloha, their win bumped their record up to 13-10. They not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 23rd (when they won 11-0).

For Aloha's part, Achillies Garcia spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up 11 Ks. Garcia has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Tobin Cramer, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Grot, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

While Mountainside had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
