Softball Recap: Overton Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Overton can now relate to. They took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cross Roads Bobcats on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Bobcats: they've now lost seven in a row.

Bryleigh Nelson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.

Overton's defeat dropped their record down to 16-11-1. As for Cross Roads, the victory was the 15th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 25-9.

While Overton had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
