Basketball Preview: Archie Whirlwinds vs. Jasper Eagles
The Archie Whirlwinds will be playing in front of their home fans against the Jasper Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Archie will be strutting in after a victory while the Eagles will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Wednesday, Archie didn't have too much trouble with the Mules at home as they won 61-42. Archie pushed the score to 50-25 by the end of the third, a deficit the Mules cut but never quite recovered from.
Meanwhile, Jasper had to suffer through a rough 47-16 loss at the hands of the Tigers. While losing is never fun, Jasper can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 426th, while the Tigers are ranked 181st).
The victory makes it two in a row for Archie and bumps their season record up to 8-9. As for Jasper, they now have a losing record at 9-10.
Everything went Archie's way against the Eagles in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as the Whirlwinds made off with a 55-34 win. Does Archie have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
