Tomball had won 15 straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they bumped up to 34-5 to make it 16. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Klein Oak Panthers. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 3-0 win back in September.

Heidi Horan paced Tomball's offense, picking up 13 kills. Horan got some help from Greysen Ortmeier and her 29 assists. Gemma Hopkins controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

As for Klein Oak, their defeat ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 32-11. The shutout was out of character for they seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in September.

Klein Oak's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Samantha Kuehnle, who had five digs and two aces, and Ava Edmonds, who had 11 digs.

Tomball and Klein Oak should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Cougars will square off against Tomball Memorial at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (20 vs. 107). Meanwhile, Klein Oak (ranked 71st) will meet Magnolia West (ranked 227th) at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
