Softball Recap: Northern Durham Has No Trouble Against Riverside-Durham

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Jordan, Northern Durham was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Riverside-Durham Pirates as they made off with a 19-9 victory. This was a revenge game for the Knights: when they faced off against the Pirates back in April, they had to take a 11-1 defeat.

The team relied heavily on Lainey Stutts, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with seven RBI, four runs, and two doubles. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Roxy Nelson, who went 4-for-5 with four runs and one RBI.

Northern Durham always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .575. They are 4-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Northern Durham's win bumped their record up to 6-14. As for Riverside-Durham, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-6.

As of now, neither Northern Durham nor the Pirates have any future games scheduled.
