Basketball Recap: Tayana Sherlock's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Monument Valley over Show Low

Monument Valley lost against Show Low back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The contest between the Monument Valley Mustangs and the Show Low Cougars didn't end well, with the Monument Valley Mustangs falling 55-40.

Monument Valley lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Tayana Sherlock, who posted ten points. Those ten points gave Sherlock a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Keiryn Mann, who had six points in addition to seven boards and three blocks.

Leading Show Low to victory were Raquel Wilson and Jordyn Boyce. Wilson dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 steals, while Boyce went 5 for 8 on her way to 15 points and five rebounds. The match was Wilson's 15th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylee Boyce, who scored nine points.

Monument Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Show Low, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-5.

Monument Valley has already played their next game, a 62-54 victory against Window Rock on the 18th. As for Show Low, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-34 win against Blue Ridge on the 17th.
