Softball Game Preview: R.A. Long Lumberjacks vs. Columbia River Rapids

The R.A. Long Lumberjacks will head out to take on the Columbia River Rapids at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. R.A. Long is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.

On Monday, R.A. Long beat Hockinson 8-5.

Meanwhile, Columbia River was not the first on the board on Monday, but they got there more often. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Woodland, sneaking past 6-5.

Haylee Delano spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, Haley Corona was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Sydney Wilder, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Columbia River's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-5. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for R.A. Long, their victory bumped their record up to 5-9-1.

R.A. Long might still be hurting after the 15-0 loss they got from Columbia River in their previous meeting on April 14th. Can the Lumberjacks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
