Baseball Recap: Dixie Falls Short Against Ranked Arbor View

Dixie is ranked highly in their home state and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Arbor View. Dixie lost 10-2 to Arbor View. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Flyers of the 10-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.

Jordan Andreas was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Crew Pryor and Colton Hill stepped up to the plate in a big way. Pryor scored two runs and stole two bases, while Hill went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That's the most runs Pryor has posted over his last 13 matches.

Dixie has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season. Arbor View has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

Dixie is taking a road trip to square off against Snow Canyon at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Arbor View, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Las Vegas at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Las Vegas' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Arbor View's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
