Baseball Preview: Taft Raiders vs. Sotomayor WILDCATS
Taft is 0-4 against Sotomayor since March of 2023 but things could change on Tuesday. Taft will take on Sotomayor at 7:30 p.m.
Taft is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Saturday. They lost 12-2 to Warren.
Taft saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was CHRIS ARRIAGA, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Another was SAYBIEN GUZMAN, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Even though they lost, Taft hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Warren struck out seven times.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Saturday Sotomayor sidestepped Stevens for a 4-2 win.
Jace Cano was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
Sotomayor's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-5-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Taft, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11.
