Softball Recap: Andover Huskies vs. Totino-Grace Eagles
Andover gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Totino-Grace Eagles a 16-0 shutout. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Andover also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2023.
Morgan Kostecka was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Kostecka was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.
In other batting news, Andover let Laci Heppell and Megan Surgenor loose on the outfield. Heppell scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3, while Surgenor went 2-for-4 with four RBI, a run, and a double. Chloe Brown was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.
