Recap: Hope Academy Trojan Tigers vs. Wade Christian Academy

The Hope Academy Trojan Tigers had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.2 points), and they went ahead and made it ten on Monday. They blew past Wade Christian Academy 89-6 at home. Hope Academy might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won eight matches by 22 points or more this season.

Leading Hope Academy to victory were Ja'vion Jenkins and Dwayne Foreman III. Jenkins dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds, while Foreman III dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 steals. The matchup was Foreman III's 13th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Zion Baako, who scored 11 points along with nine steals.

Hope Academy's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.7 points per game. As for Wade Christian Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-2.

Hope Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Umatilla at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th. Umatilla knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six contests -- so hopefully Hope Academy likes a good challenge. Wade Christian Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on City of Life Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 11, 2024.
