Plainview took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Monterey, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bulldogs had just enough and edged out the Plainsmen 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bulldogs have posted since August 23rd.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Plainview got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 25-18, 11-25, 25-22, 25-27, 15-13.

Plainview has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-16 record this season. As for Monterey, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 21-13.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Plainview is set to face off against their familiar foe Amarillo at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Monterey will square off against rival Caprock at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
