Tyler HEAT came out on top against Excel Christian Academy on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive 12-run fifth inning. Tyler HEAT put the hurt on Excel Christian Academy with a sharp 14-2 victory. Considering Tyler HEAT has won six contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

John Sisco and Kelly Posada did most of the damage at the plate: Sisco got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one RBI, while Posada got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Posada is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Newbold, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Tyler HEAT always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .647. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive matchups.

Tyler HEAT's win bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Excel Christian Academy, they dropped their record down to 3-8 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

As of now, neither Tyler HEAT nor Excel Christian Academy have any future games scheduled.
