Santa Monica came tearing into Wednesday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.4 goals) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Lawndale Cardinals 11-0. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won nine contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Their offense was hitting Lawndale from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Gabriel Sherman led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for four goals all by himself.

Santa Monica's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-2-1. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those seven matches. As for Lawndale, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4-2.

Santa Monica and Lawndale should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Santa Monica will challenge Culver City at 6:30 p.m. on Friday up 250 places (12 vs. 262). Similarly, Lawndale (ranked 425th) will meet Inglewood (ranked 976th) on Friday.
