Baseball Game Preview: Corvian Community Cardinals vs. Langtree Charter Academy Lions

For the second straight game, Corvian Community will face off against Langtree Charter Academy. The Cardinals will take on the Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Corvian Community took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Langtree Charter Academy, sneaking past 2-1. The victory continues a trend for the Cardinals in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won three in a row.

Brennan Frey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Corvian Community saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Gilmore, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Corvian Community's win bumped their record up to 10-12. As for Langtree Charter Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-9 record this season.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal.
