The Branham Bruins were able to grind out a solid win over the Half Moon Bay Cougars on Friday, taking the game 56-45. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bruins.

Branham's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Michael Murphy led the charge by rushing for 179 yards and three TDs on only 12 carries. Murphy's rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his tenth straight game with at least 109 rushing yards. Another signal caller making a difference was Andrew Ho, who threw for 180 yards and four touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes.

Branham didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Half Moon Bay to a completion percentage of just 50%. Given Ho's standout performance, it's clear the Cougars' secondary just wasn't on the same level.

Branham's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Half Moon Bay, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-4.

As of now, neither Branham nor the Cougars have any future games scheduled.
