Basketball Recap: South Pontotoc Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for South Pontotoc, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They came out on top against the North Pontotoc Vikings by a score of 64-54 on Tuesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 61-46 back in December of 2024.

South Pontotoc's win bumped their record up to 13-9. As for North Pontotoc, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the South Pontotoc Cougars duke it out with the Baldwyn Bearcats at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in South Pontotoc's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests. As for North Pontotoc, they will challenge Senatobia at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
