Basketball Game Preview: St. Anne's-Belfield Saints vs. Saint Gertrude Gators

St. Anne's-Belfield has gone 10-0 against Saint Gertrude recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The St. Anne's-Belfield Saints are taking a road trip to take on the Saint Gertrude Gators at 6:00 p.m. St. Anne's-Belfield will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line.

On Friday, St. Anne's-Belfield took their contest with ease, bagging a 57-30 win over Collegiate. The Saints have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 21 points or more this season.

St. Anne's-Belfield can attribute much of their success to Harmony Williams, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 boards, and Ange Hyonkeu, who went 6 of 14 en route to 15 points and eight rebounds. The matchup was Williams' fifth in a row with at least ten points. Emma Bingler was another key player, putting up nine points.

St. Anne's-Belfield smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in five consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Saint Gertrude ended up a good deal behind St. Margaret's on Thursday and lost 72-54. The Gators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

St. Anne's-Belfield pushed their record up to 15-0 with the victory, which was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 35 points. As for Saint Gertrude, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9.

Everything went St. Anne's-Belfield's way against Saint Gertrude in their previous matchup back in January, as St. Anne's-Belfield made off with a 72-46 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for St. Anne's-Belfield since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
