Basketball Recap: Monta Vista Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Monta Vista has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 71-59 to the Homestead Mustangs on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Matadors of the 63-54 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Monta Vista's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-4. As for Homestead, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.

Monta Vista has already played their next match, a 57-48 loss against Aragon on the 18th. As for Homestead, they are taking a road trip to face off against Fremont at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Homestead is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
