Baseball Game Preview: Tulare Union Tribe vs. Dinuba Emperors

For the second straight game, Tulare Union will face off against Dinuba. The Tribe will welcome the Emperors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Tulare Union turned things around against Dinuba on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 win over the Emperors. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Tribe have posted against the Emperors since March 11, 2020.

Ryan Matthews made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Matthews was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Jaden Bermudez was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. He has become a key player for Tulare Union: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-10 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Stevenson, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4.

Dinuba's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Tulare Union, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 5-10.
