Baseball Game Preview: St. Frederick Warriors vs. Oak Grove Tigers

The St. Frederick Warriors will head out to face off against the Oak Grove Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Oak Grove took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on St. Frederick, who comes in off a win.

St. Frederick is headed into the matchup having just posted their closest win since February 20th on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Mangham 7-6. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Dragons recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

OWEN ONEIL was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. St. Frederick is undefeated when ONEIL posts three or more RBI, but 9-15 otherwise.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Oak Grove and Lakeside meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Tigers fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 8-7.

Oak Grove dropped their record down to 9-15 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for St. Frederick, their win bumped their record up to 12-15.

St. Frederick came out on top in a nail-biter against Oak Grove in their previous meeting back in March of 2025, sneaking past 11-10. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
