Baseball Recap: St. Anselm's Abbey Comes Up Short

St. Anselm's Abbey has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging four runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Field Falcons by a score of 10-8. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 17-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Connor Paletta made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Fen Mandel, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

St. Anselm's Abbey's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Field, their win bumped their record up to 2-4-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Anselm's Abbey will square off against Avalon at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Field, they will challenge Eastern at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
