Baseball Recap: Riverton Gets the Win

Riverton won against Davis on Monday with six runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Silverwolves walked away with a 6-2 win over the Pleasant Grove Vikings. For the Silverwolves, this counts as revenge for the 12-10 victory the Vikings walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2025.

Boston Hatch tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2025.

At the plate, Bryce Mounteer was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Coleman Garn, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple.

Riverton has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs this season. As for Pleasant Grove, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Looking ahead, Riverton will take on Chaparral in a tournament on Wednesday. The Silverwolves' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Firebirds have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season. As for Pleasant Grove, they have already played their next game, a 12-11 victory against Lehi on the 13th.
