Flag Football Recap: Mountain Pointe Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Thursday just wasn't the day for Mountain Pointe's offense. They took a blow against the Campo Verde Coyotes on Thursday, falling 37-0. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Pride, who until this game were averaging 12.14 points allowed.

Ariana Acosta threw for 65 yards on 11 of 16 attempts. Nevaeh Luevano was her top target, picking up 40 receiving yards.

Amaya Moreno gave her former team something to remember she by as she threw for 239 yards and five TDs, and also rushed for 32 yards for Campo Verde. Moreno is crushing it when it comes to passing touchdowns: she's passed for at least five every time she's taken the field this season. Claire McMahon was in the mix as well, providing Campo Verde with two scores.

Mountain Pointe has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season. As for Campo Verde, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

Looking ahead, Mountain Pointe will head out on the road to take on Desert Vista at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Campo Verde, they will be taking part in a tournament against Casteel at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
