Baseball Recap: Rangeview Comes Up Short

Rangeview extended their losing streak to ten on Friday, dropping them down to 5-16. They lost 13-2 to the Denver North Vikings. If the Raiders were looking for revenge after losing 15-0 to the Vikings when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Rangeview saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colten Burch, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double.

As for Denver North, they pushed their record up to 10-10 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The matchup marked their most dominant victory of the season.

On Denver North's side, Joaquin Martinez spent all five innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits. The Vikings are 2-1 when Martinez allows three or fewer earned runs, but 8-9 otherwise.

At the plate, Denver North let Leandro Echevarria and Mauricio Lucero run wild. Echevarria went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Lucero went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those three hits gave Lucero a new career-high. David Villareal was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Looking ahead, Rangeview will look to defend their home field on Thursday against DSST: Montview at 4:00 p.m. As for Denver North, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 6-4 loss against Monarch on the 2nd.
