Recap: Leetonia Bears vs. Wellsville Tigers
The Leetonia Bears suffered their biggest loss since December 15, 2023 on Friday. They took a serious blow against Wellsville, falling 61-31. Leetonia was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Wellsville apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Several Bears players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Carson Brock, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Leetonia bumped their record down to 3-10 with that loss, which was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.5 points per game. As for Wellsville, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Leetonia won't have much time to rest: their next match is against McKinley at 1:00 p.m. on January 13th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Ohio (McKinley is ranked 806th, while Leetonia is ranked 819th). As for Wellsville, they will head out on the road to face off against Toronto at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
