Everything went their way against the Prairie Heights Panthers on Thursday as they made off with a 14-3 win. Winning may never get old, but the Falcons sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Hunter Kauffman made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Drew Beachy was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with four runs and two stolen bases. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Logan Miller was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one double.
Fairfield hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive games.
Fairfield's record is now 13-6. As for Prairie Heights, their defeat was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-14.
