Baseball Recap: Morton Comes Up Short

Morton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 5-1 to the Ropes Eagles. If the Indians were looking for revenge after losing 16-5 to the Eagles when the teams met back in April of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Morton now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Ropes, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 18-4.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Morton will face off against rival Smyer at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Ropes is set to challenge their familiar foe New Home at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Eagles 3, the Leopards 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
