Basketball Recap: Fremont Comes Up Short

Fremont lost against Skyridge back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Fremont Silverwolves fell 52-45 to the Skyridge Falcons.

Loss or not, Fremont got some senior leadership from Easton Duft and Dylan Bruce. Duft went 8 of 20 on his way to 18 points and five rebounds, while Bruce went 6 of 8 on his way to 12 points. The matchup was Duft's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zach Hancock, who posted six points.

It was another big night for Jordan Kohler, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 12 rebounds for Skyridge. That's the most points Kohler has posted since back in February of 2024. Hunter Sheffield was another key player, putting up seven points and three steals.

Fremont has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Skyridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fremont will square off against Riverton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fremont is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.3 points per game this season. As for Skyridge, they will take on Layton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Skyridge also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 59.1 points per game.
