Maize is 8-2 against Hutchinson since February of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Maize Eagles will welcome the Hutchinson Salthawks. One thing working in Maize's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 11 contests.

Last Friday, everything came up roses for Maize against Haysville Campus as the team secured a 79-52 victory. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 46th, while the Colts are ranked 268th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Hutchinson entered their tilt with Newton on Friday with three consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Railroaders by a score of 58-51.

Maize has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.1 points over those games. The win got Hutchinson back to even at 8-8.

Maize beat Hutchinson 59-46 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Will Maize repeat their success, or does Hutchinson have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
