Baseball Recap: Cheney Comes Up Short

Cheney fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Ridgeline on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 9-7. The Blackhawks just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row.

Jace Vega made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nolan McKinnon, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Cheney's record is now 5-10. As for Ridgeline, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-10.

While Cheney had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
