Football Recap: Andrews Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Andrews's offense. They were dealt a 47-0 loss at the hands of the Cherokee Braves on Friday. The Wildcats have struggled against the Braves recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Brady McLelland threw for 31 yards on four of ten attempts.

Cherokee was led to victory by Kingston Welch and Jonathan Saylor. Welch rushed for 162 yards and three TDs on only 11 carries, while Saylor rushed for 78 yards and three scores on only six carries. The Braves are 2-1 when Welch posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 1-5 otherwise.

Andrews' defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Cherokee, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-6 record.
