Pickens lost to Chestatee back in October of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Dragons came out on top against the War Eagles by a score of 2-0.

Pickens easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-12.

Edy Wyngaard paced Pickens' offense, picking up 13 kills. Wyngaard got some help from Sophia Derstine and her 17 assists. Derstine also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Emma Thompson, racking up three apiece.

Pickens' win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 11-14. As for Chestatee, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-15.

Coming up, Pickens will challenge Lumpkin County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Chestatee, they have already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy on the 11th.
