Soccer Recap: St. Clairsville Gets Big Win over Higher-Ranked the Linsly School

After losing to The Linsly School the last time they met, St. Clairsville decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Red Devils put the hurt on the Cadets with a sharp 6-1 victory on Monday. The win was all the more spectacular given St. Clairsville's disadvantage in MaxPreps' soccer rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 293rd in Ohio, while The Linsly School are ranked 47th in West Virginia).

St. Clairsville now has a winning record of 5-4-2. As for The Linsly School, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Clairsville will venture away from home to face off against Cambridge at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Cambridge will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something St. Clairsville surely won't give up without a fight. As for The Linsly School, they will take on Wheeling Park at 6:00 p.m. on October 2.
